Pattern/Pleat is an investigation into patterns, folding and the relationship of textile design to abstract painting. Through the inclusion of folds or pleats in the artwork's physical surface, I am trying to disturb and activate the spatial qualities of the painted surface. As one shifts around each work, areas of pattern either appear or disappear, enabling the co-existence of different forms based on the alignment of the viewer.
